Eastern Oregon, due to low population densities, has some of the darkest skies in the nation, which makes it great for taking pictures of the milky way. We used a headlamp to light up the Fort Rock General Store, at the Fort Rock Homestead Museum. Mars, Saturn and a shooting star were captured in addition to the core of the milky way.
