Redwoods State Parks
In late September, we took a photo trip to the Southern Oregon Coast. To fill in the time between sunrise and sunsets, we explored some trails in Jedediah Smith, Del Norte Coast and Prairie Creek Redwoods State Parks. I am planning a trip back in late May, when the rhododendrons are blooming. While it rained on us several times, we did see the sun come out for a few hikes. We had rain gear for us and the cameras when it was raining.
Shore Acres State Park
I made this trip in September with other members from the Emerald Photographic Society. September seems like a long time ago, but I was busy with other things. Here is my story about a trip to the Southern Oregon Coast visiting Shore Acres, Samuel H. Boardman Scenic Corridor, and Bandon. We left after sunrise, from Eugene, because the weather forecast was for cloudy skies. We stopped at Shore Acres State Park on the way to Harris Beach State Park.
Salt Point State Park
The night before was gorgeous, I captured a lot of good images. The next morning started early, even for March. It was the raccoon’s fault, they got into our cooler, stole some food and tipped it over. We camped at Salt Creek State Park, and the food boxes were too small (and broken) to store the cooler. I figured that critters must not be a problem, I was wrong, which I found out from a rude awakening at 1:00am. Getting back into the pickup I stepped on the remote, the alarm was going off, and I had to dig through my pants to find it. Good thing we left camp before sunrise, to photograph the sunrise, I am sure our neighbors were not happy.
